If you have a laptop or desktop then you might have faced a problem where your screen would go all black, and you might be wondering what could be the reason for that.

How to Fix Black Screen on Laptop / Desktop
1. explorer.exe stops working
If you are able to see the mouse pointer there are chances that the problem is caused by the explorer.exe process.
i. Click Ctrl + Shift + Esc button which will open the task manager, now search for explorer.exe process and click end process which will end the process.
ii. Now that you have ended the process we have to start it again, by clicking file>New Task from the Top Task Manager Menu, which will open a new run prompt
iii. Now type explorer.exe in the input field and click ok
iv. If the problem was caused by explorer.exe then it should have been resolved by now, if not then try other resolutions given below.
2. Connection Problem with Monitor/ Screen
There are chances that there is a problem with the connection between your Laptop/ Desktop and Monitor or Screen. So make sure that the cable connecting your Laptop/ Desktop with your monitor is working. If it’s not working get a new one from Amazon.
3. Problems caused by recent updates or system changes
Sometimes the problem of a Black Screen on a Laptop/ Desktop is caused by a recent update or changes in the system settings.
i. Before doing a system restore make sure to save the files and close the problems.
ii. Click the start button and search for system restore and click enter
iii. Click Next, Now select the latest previous saved restore point, proceed further and follow the instructions shown on your screen.
iv. If this doesn’t work then try to open the windows in Safe Mode

While it’s booting up, hold down the F8 key before the Windows logo appears. A menu will appear. You can then release the F8 key. Use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode (or Safe Mode with Networking if you need to use the Internet to solve your problem), then press Enter.
4. Issues with Drivers
i. Click Windows Key + R and type devmgmt.msc and click enter, which will open the device manager.
ii. Right Click on Monitor Device and click update Drivers Software, which will install driver updates if available (Make sure the laptop can access the internet)
iii. You can try disabling and enabling the Device Drivers as well.
5. Black Screen caused by Hardware Change / or other hardware Issues
If the problem appeared right after you changed any hardware components, then try re-installing that component and see if this solves the problem.
